When Deb Gaut and I started working together, I had no idea what was in store for us! Deb had dedicated the first 30 years of her career as a university professor, with most of her summers spent facilitating training in business and industry. It was time to shake things up. Having spent her entire life working in the academic and business worlds, she decided to accept a position with the Defense Department. That decision led to seven satisfying years of government service — before she found herself dreaming another dream. She wanted to launch her own business, and when the opportunity arrived, she gave it everything she had to make it successful.
In 2018 and 2019, she earned three prestigious coaching certifications, specializing as a leadership and success coach. In addition to coaching, Deb is a speaker and writer. In 2021, she partnered with a wildly-talented artist and graphic designer named Bonnie Sales to publish a guided journal for job seekers, called Morph, Pivot, Launch™: Navigate Your Job Search in Turbulent Times,
Dreams Really Do Come True
In 2022, Deb fulfilled her dream to launch a podcast, and I have had the joy and honor of being part of this exciting project. She researched and reached out to podcasting professionals and potential guests to get the first season started. The result is the launch of the Tiny Sparks, Big Flames podcast. It’s focused on inspiring creatives, innovators, and difference makers. The guests include writers, artists, podcasters, and innovative entrepreneurs who have taken their dreams and turned them into reality.
An Inspirational Collection
As a collaborator, I’ve had quite an education about what it takes to accomplish this goal. My role was to focus on the branding and strategic marketing. I also photographed some of the guests. For Deb, this is a way to build and give back to this community. She has given it everything she has to bring this dream to reality. Those of us who are guests on the podcast are blessed to be part of it. Deb interviewed me during the first season. It was a wonderful experience!
A Visual Celebration
Deb and I recently went on a “Photography Experience” in the Grand Center Arts District. We spent several hours exploring the nooks and crannies of this magnificent neighborhood. We visited the Angad Arts Hotel, had lunch at the Diner, and enjoyed drinks at the Fountain on Locust. Along the way, I captured Deb enjoying this eclectic, colorful environment.

Life is an opportunity, seize the day, live each day to the fullest. Life is not a project, but a journey to be enjoyed.
