Several years ago, I worked with a young man who was breaking into the film industry. He had earned his degree in screenwriting and was learning how to get more established on the web. We worked on brand development, setting up a blog and a plan for sharing and exchanging content in social media.

Creating a remarkable online presence has many of the same elements as making a movie…of you or your business. The steps are DEVELOPMENT, PRE-PRODUCTION, PRODUCTION and POST PRODUCTION.
During the DEVELOPMENT phase, think about your most compelling and memorable stories. How do they tie in with what you want to share with your readers? When you decide on a concept, you can produce a step outline that focuses on dramatic structure and set up an editorial calendar that will give you a sense of direction. Your content should be based on a clearly-defined marketing strategy that is designed to have a dramatic impact on your audience.
