CREATING A REMARKABLE ONLINE PRESENCE
SCENE 4: DIGITAL MEDIA DISTRIBUTION
When you have your branding and web platforms established, a systematic approach to posting and scheduling will make it easier to create a remarkable online presence.
EDITORIAL CALENDAR

With an editorial calendar, you can map out your content and distribute your posts in an organized, manageable way. The Google Keyword Tool is a good resource for coming up with ideas for titles and content. Conduct a search based on the keywords that you want to focus on each month and make a list of potential headlines for the month.
- Organize blog posts by content from the ideas on your calendar.
- Try to post a minimum of once a week on a regular schedule. You can pre-schedule on WordPress if you want to post at a later time or date.
- Coordinate your blog posts with updates in your social media platforms. You can post simultaneously or pre-schedule with an online tool such as Hootsuite or Tweetdeck (see Handy Tools for Digital Media Management below).
- Establish consistent communications and monitoring habits that fit your schedule. For example:
WEEKDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON (when you have time)
BLOG – post 1-2 days a week and share links to posts on social media platforms; respond to blog comments
Share updates, interesting links and observations to all of the platforms
FACEBOOK – review Facebook profile and page for questions or comments and respond
LINKEDIN -reply to LinkedIn emails and comments when appropriate
TWITTER – check @replies and @mentions and respond; scan followers for conversations to join
WEEKLY
BLOG – check analytics for traffic
FACEBOOK – add videos, photos, links or comments
LINKEDIN -scan LinkedIn Questions and Group discussions for opportunities to participate; send invitations and ask for recommendations from contacts
TWITTER – organize Twitter with lists; discover influential people to follow; participate in #chats
